How Shared Hosting Works Minimize

Select "Back" or "Forward" to move through the learning pages or select the specific link that suits you the best.
There are three main parts to the hosting process:
  1. The Webmaster - the content producer, you
  2. The Web Host
  3. The Viewer.
The Webmaster
Is responsible for creating and producing the content to be displayed on the internet, and making it available to the web host. Generally through an Website Development Program, or Text Editor and broadband connection to the distributor network.
Content can be uploaded via a file manager on the Host's Web server, or a FTP (File-Transfer Protocol) Program from a PC. An Editor (Such As Microsoft's Frontpage, or Macromedia's Dreamweaver) is a software program that allows you to take your text, content, photographs, and media, and displays it in a way that organizable by someone who doesn't know code, and in a way that would make it easier for someone who does know code.
We can supply more information on how to develop a website, and how the process works at customer request. We also offer Site-Building Software, for people uncomfortable buying an expensive program such as dreamweaver.
Your Host
The Host is responsible for storing your content, and delivering it effectively to your audience.
A Host directly accesses the content which you store on their servers, and subsequentally display it to anyone who requests it by going to your Domain name (.com, .ca etc.). When utilizing a shared hosting service, your content is put among other client's content (logically and securely separated of course!) on a server, in order to reduce management and administration costs, and thereby passing savings downwards to you!
We can supply more information on these methods at your request.
The Viewer
The purpose of any website is to deliver the best possible experience to an audience, and to make it as easy as possible for them to view designated content.
All a viewer needs to do is click on a hyperlink, or type in the address to view your webpage and content.
The viewer will need to have an internet connection to receive the data , and have a browser installed to display it properly.
